A magic show in Portland, Oregon

No stage, no big boxes, no assistants. My show is close-up magic performed at arm's length — shuffled, chosen and signed by the people watching. It fits a living room, a restaurant back room or a downtown office just as easily as a ballroom.

Three ways the show can run

1–3 hours

Strolling close-up

I move between groups performing short, self-contained pieces in your guests' hands. Best for cocktail hours, receptions and open-house style parties where people arrive at different times.

25–40 minutes

Seated parlour show

One show for the whole room, with everybody watching together. Best for dinners, birthdays and company events with a natural moment where everyone sits down.

Mix

Both together

Strolling while guests arrive, then a seated set as the centrepiece of the evening. This is the most common booking for weddings and holiday parties.

What I need from the venue

  • Nothing technical. No stage, no lighting rig, no sound system for strolling sets.
  • A little light. Guests need to see their own hands — normal party lighting is fine.
  • A seat or table for parlor sets. For a seated show, a small table and a microphone if the room holds more than about forty people.

Where the show travels

I'm based in Portland and regularly perform downtown, on the east side, and out to Beaverton, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, Tigard, Gresham, Clackamas and Vancouver, Washington. Further afield in Oregon or Washington is usually fine — just ask.
